Brunch · Edinburgh
Tucked into a small space that fills up fast, this brunch spot rewards a bit of planning — book ahead, especially at weekends, or you may wait, and groups particularly should ring first. Once you're in it's cosy rather than cramped, with high chairs, a kids' menu and a few outdoor tables when the weather plays fair. The food is the draw: hummus on toast that people talk about for months, eggs Benedict done properly with spinach, bacon or halloumi, and a French toast (the banoffee and apple versions especially) that arrives looking like a treat. Fresh orange juice, good coffee, vegan choices too. The staff are warm and quick with children, though the team can be chatty and loud among themselves, so it's not a hushed room — which, with a toddler in tow, is often a mercy.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
