About The Oak

A relaxed town-pub feel is what people keep coming back for here — laid back, good music on in the background, and a small open-plan room with striking artwork on the walls. The pizza is the thing to order: proper deep-dish Detroit style, generous enough to share between two, and it comes out fast, which matters when someone at the table is losing patience. The Nduja and pepperoni get particular praise, and there's a vegan version too. Out back there's a little sun-trap beer garden, ideal on a warm afternoon. High chairs and a kids' menu are in place, pints are reasonably priced, and one visitor calls it "old school but clean and tidy". Worth knowing: service can be hit and miss, and live music nights get busy and loud.
