Dishoom Permit Room Cambridge
Fast, bold Indian cooking with a kids' menu, high chairs and buggy access — busy and tight-packed, so book ahead.

British · Cambridge
A smart, buzzy dining room that manages the trick of feeling grown-up without being hushed — the music stays subtle and you can hold a conversation across the table, which makes it far easier with children than the decor suggests. Buggy access, high chairs and a kids' menu are all in place, and the restrooms are kept properly clean. Portions are generous: the chips alone defeat most people, and the shepherd's pie, truffle mushroom linguine and truffle-and-egg chicken get the loudest praise, with the chocolate bombe and its popping candy a guaranteed win with children. Service is usually quick and attentive, though the front desk can be less warm and Friday evenings have meant long waits for a table — book ahead. It's a proper £££ occasion place, and the £40 steak isn't always worth it.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
