The Ivy Cambridge Brasserie
Smart but genuinely chatty Cambridge brasserie with kids' menu, high chairs and buggy access — book ahead, and save room for the chocolate bombe.

Big, buzzy and surprisingly workable with children — the food comes out fast, which matters when someone's patience is thinning. Expect bold Indian cooking rather than the usual takeaway staples: the daal gets rave mentions, as do the garlic pepper prawns, lamb tawa kebab, prawn moilee and a biryani people describe as rich and filling. Breakfast is worth knowing about too, with chicken keema pau and a mango lassi that most children will happily share. There's a proper kids' menu, high chairs, buggy access and outdoor seating, plus plenty of veggie, vegan and halal choices. One main and a side per person is genuinely enough. The catch: it's popular and packed at weekends and Friday lunchtimes, tables sit close together, and one visitor found the space "a bit tight" with a pram. Book ahead.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
