Pub · Brighton
Tucked away off The Lane, this is a proper Brighton pub that happens to work well with children in tow — there's a kids' menu, high chairs, and a hidden courtyard garden out the back with benches and covered seating, which is where most families end up. The Thai kitchen is the real draw: the lunch deals get raved about, though portions run on the modest side. Sunday roasts are a strong bet too — tender pork with cider apple, beef done properly, at a fair price. Staff are consistently warm and quick to take an order. Two honest snags: it gets hot inside and busy on evenings and weekends, and the toilets are down a flight of basement stairs, so it's awkward with a pram and no good for wheelchairs. One visitor called it "a hidden gem".
