Sunday roasts are a strong bet too — tender pork with cider apple, beef done properly, at a fair price. Staff are consistently warm and quick to take an order. Two honest snags: it gets hot inside and busy on evenings and weekends, and the toilets are down a flight of basement stairs, so it's awkward with a pram and no good for wheelchairs. One visitor called it "a hidden gem".
