Cafés · Cannock
Tucked just across the road from Cannock Chase, this is the sort of stop that works whether you've walked the legs off everyone or just want a proper sit-down lunch. Order at the hatch, take a buzzer, and grab one of the little wooden huts outside — they seat about six, so a whole family fits, and they're a lifesaver on a wet day. Everything's homemade: the scones and flapjacks get the loudest praise, and the sausage rolls and jacket potatoes are around £7. Staff are friendly and quick even when it's full, and they'll happily tweak a sandwich for a fussy eater. Birds and flowers to watch while you eat keep small people occupied. Parking is free but limited, and it gets busy — book a hut online if you can. Dogs welcome too.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
