A big, buzzy city-centre pub that works better for families earlier in the day — there's a kids' menu, high chairs and step-free access for a pram, plus outdoor seating if you need to escape the noise. There's plenty of room across two floors, and the split matters: downstairs the music runs loud and sport is on the screens, while upstairs is noticeably calmer and better suited to little ones. The small plates get the most love — five for around £22 — along with the chicken wings, and portions are decent for the price. Staff are generally warm and happy to help, though service can be hit and miss when it's busy, and food takes longer at peak times (they'll warn you first).
