Access is genuinely thought through: automatic doors at the front and a lift to the first floor, so a pram is no obstacle, and there's outdoor seating plus high chairs and a kids' menu. Prices are gentle, the food is locally sourced from around Devon and Cornwall, and there's proper choice for vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free eaters. Homemade fruit scones with clotted cream and the bread and butter pudding get the most praise. Staff are warm and unhurried — one visitor found the welcome put them instantly at ease — though late afternoon can feel rushed near closing, and cakes are freshest earlier.
