About Little Chinatown Food Hall

Second floor of the building is where the dim sum lives, and it's worth the climb — bright, plenty of seating, though small enough that it gets crowded and loud at busy times. Come off-peak if you've got a pram to park. Prices sit slightly above the local average, but the cooking earns it: prawn har gau and siu mai, prawn spring rolls, cheung fan, roast pork and poached chicken with chilli oil, and a salted egg lava bun families rave about. There's a kids' menu and high chairs, and the staff are happy to steer you — ask what they'd order and go with it. Two snags worth knowing: it's cash only, so top up before you sit down, and window seats need booking ahead. Portions of steamed dishes are generous, so smaller appetites can share.
