A grand country-house setting just outside Cheltenham, with log fires in the sitting room and enough space that a pram isn't a problem — one family who stayed found the team happy to shuffle rooms so the children slept next door rather than down the corridor. There's a kids' menu and high chairs, and two restaurants on site, so an evening meal doesn't mean driving into town with tired children. Food is the consistent high point: plenty of choice, generous two-course lunches, and enough variety that two nights running felt like two different experiences. The lounge is a genuine rainy-day rescue, with board games out for children. Worth knowing: drinks are pricey, service can be patchy when new staff are training, and the spa is small — busy days mean queuing for a lounger.
