Inside is genuinely small, so the space that makes it work for families is outside: a big beer garden, an enclosed covered terrace, a conservatory-style room and a summer house, plus a small playground that keeps toddlers busy for a whole afternoon. Free parking, high chairs, a kids' menu and level buggy access to the outdoor areas. Portions are generous and fairly priced — the ham and egg gets singled out, as does a brie, bacon and onion marmalade ciabatta with skin-on fries.
