Pip Tree Café
Buzzy Derby bakery-café with a greenhouse, covered outdoor tables, brilliant cakes (vegan and gluten-free too) and patient, allergy-aware staff.

Coffee Shops · Derby
Sat just behind Draycott by the old Derby canal, this is a bigger, brighter spot than the outside suggests — roomy enough inside for a pram, with a generous seating area at the side and more tables by the car park for warm days. Parking is free and there are disabled spaces, though it fills up fast; booking a table is genuinely worth it at busy times. The team are patient and accommodating — one visitor with sensory needs had their eggs cooked exactly as asked, no fuss. Food lands in around ten minutes, which helps when someone's losing patience. The homemade cakes are the real draw: the Victoria sponge and cheesecake get proper raves, and the paninis, jacket potatoes and sausage cobs are solid. It gets busy and atmospheric at weekends. Dogs welcome too, with a free treat.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
