Right in the middle of Breaston, this is a roomy, unhurried sort of café where you won't feel you're blocking the aisle with a pram — there's plenty of seating, high chairs, and tables outside when the weather plays along. It's popular with mothers and young families, and the staff are genuinely kind (one regular's nan comes in for the scrambled eggs on sourdough and gets looked after every time). Portions are big: the American pancakes defeat most people, the quiche is generous, and the Stilton, cream cheese, walnut and mango chutney sandwich has a following.
