The Mount Stuart - JD Wetherspoon
Roomy bayside Wetherspoons with a balcony view over the water, fast cheap food, high chairs and free parking.

British · Cardiff
Right on the water in Cardiff Bay, this is a reliable stop after a walk around the barrage — buggy access, high chairs, a kids' menu and free parking take the usual friction out of arriving. The interior is warm and cosy, though tables sit close together, so if you're wheeling a pram in, ask for one of the outdoor tables or a spot with room to manoeuvre. Food is generous: dumplings, sweet potato fries, BBQ burgers and Biscoff pancakes that come in a portion big enough for two children to share. There's a proper gluten-free menu and vegan options. Staff are attentive and unfussy — one family on a scorching day were quietly moved to a shadier table without asking. Music stays low, which helps. Service can slow when they're stretched, so allow time.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
