About Bath Arms

Tucked into the Lanes, this is a proper old Brighton pub that manages to be cosy and bright at once — real fires going, huge windows, and lots of little nooks and different seating options, so there's usually somewhere to tuck a pram out of the way. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and outdoor seating, and the staff are relaxed and welcoming rather than precious about a busy table. Food is the draw: pie and mash, fish and chips with a huge piece of fish and properly crispy chips, and Sunday roasts with enormous Yorkshire puddings. Roasts can mean a wait, though the team flag it upfront — one group got free pigs in blankets by way of apology. Live jazz on Sunday evenings, so expect it livelier then. Worth booking for a roast.
