MacConnells Bar
Friendly, well-priced Theatre Royal local with high chairs and buggy room — calm in the afternoon, loud and lively come evening.

Country Food · Glasgow
Right next to the Theatre Royal, this is a warm, cosy dining room doing proper Scottish cooking, and it works better with children than its celebratory feel suggests — high chairs, a kids' menu, buggy access and vegan options are all there. Staff come up again and again as friendly and genuinely helpful, and food tends to arrive quickly, which matters when someone's patience is running out. The Cullen Skink is a famously generous portion, and the haggis, stovies, slow-braised short rib and Cranachan all get raved about. Portions are sensible, prices fair, and there's no automatic service charge tacked on. Two snags worth knowing: it fills up, so book ahead, and the bar can be slow when it's short-staffed. The pre-theatre menu (Mon–Sat, 12–5.45pm) is the value option at two courses for £24.95.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
