The Plas Restaurant
A relaxed Welsh café in Harlech with a kids' menu, high chairs, and outdoor seating for family meals.

Cafés · Harlech
Tucked down an alley opposite Harlech Castle, this little café doubles as a wool and gift shop with a post office, and it's exactly the sort of warm, low-key spot you want after a soaking on the castle walls. Families settle in for a while — one visitor stayed for a second drink just to keep listening to the music. The cakes are homemade and get the loudest praise: Victoria sponge with smooth buttercream and plenty of jam, chocolate hazelnut, a gooey vegan chocolate muffin. Grilled cheese toasties come huge, and there's a proper vegan menu alongside cooked breakfasts. Staff are kind and flexible — one family had breakfast items swapped without being asked twice. High chairs, a kids' menu, outdoor seating for sunny days, dogs welcome, and free parking. It's small and cosy, so busy periods can feel snug.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
