Tucked into a housing estate, this splits into two halves — a pub side with pool table and football on the TVs, and a bright, surprisingly smart restaurant where families settle in. Portions land generously: two burgers, nachos with beef chilli and drinks came to around £31, and the Sunday roast pork draws real praise, as does the cheesecake. The Trust The Chef platter is worth booking ahead for. Staff are consistently warm and welcoming, which counts when you arrive with a tired toddler. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, step-free buggy access, outdoor seating and plenty of free parking. One snag: roast vegetables sometimes arrive mashed together in one bowl rather than plated, which has disappointed some. One parent calls it "a hidden gem" — the outside gives nothing away.
