Tucked into a wing of the parish church, this is an unusually calm spot for a coffee and cake stop with children — quiet, warm inside, with tables out in the old graveyard when the weather holds. The team are volunteers and the welcome is genuinely enthusiastic; nothing seems like too much trouble, dogs included. Food is simple and done well: excellent toasties, soup, homemade cakes, crumpets, toasted teacakes and big pots of tea, at prices that won't sting. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, level buggy access and free parking, though spaces in Droxford village fill up fast, so allow a little time. It makes a good pause on a Meon Valley or South Downs walk — one visitor calls it "a bubble of peace". Worth checking opening days before you set off.
