Right on the Quayside, this is the kind of long-standing Italian that regulars have been returning to for years, and the room works for families without feeling like a compromise — high chairs, a kids' menu, and a few outdoor tables when the weather plays along. It's busy and bustling but not so loud you can't hear each other, and even on packed match nights the staff are unhurried and happy to give you time. Food arrives quickly. The parmos are the thing people rave about, along with the carbonara, the calamari batter and generous portions that make the ££ prices feel fair. The kids' carbonara gets the thumbs-up too. Not everything lands — pizza bases can come out doughy and the lasagne is hit-and-miss — but the chicken Kiev and mussels rarely disappoint. Worth booking at weekends.
