Walking past the window of cakes, tray bakes and savoury bits is usually enough to get you through the door of this Horsforth café, and it holds up inside. There's a proper "buggy parking" spot by the entrance and plenty of room to get a pram to a table, with a few books about to keep small ones occupied. The menu is short — breakfast until 11:45, then lunch — but done well: eggs benedict, a good vegetarian breakfast, quiche and sausage rolls, dark chocolate millionaire's slices, decent coffee. Portions are generous enough that afternoon tea defeats most people. Staff are warm and quick to seat you, there are high chairs, a kids' menu, vegan options and free parking. Worth knowing it fills up with mums and babies around midday, so it gets noisy — one parent found it lively rather than restful.
