A working farm just outside Leeds with a garden centre and deli attached, so a meal here easily stretches into a couple of hours — handy when the weather's grim and you need somewhere to put the afternoon. The barn dining room is roomy with wide doors and free parking on site, and the conservatory tables with a view over the gardens are worth asking for. Breakfast is the thing people come back for: the Crag breakfast with sourdough and marmalade, runny-yolk bacon butties, big burgers piled with onion rings, and sausage and mash that regulars swear beats anything else in West Yorkshire. Staff are warm and unhurried with children. Gardens outside give restless little ones somewhere to walk it off. Around £15 for breakfast, and busy enough at weekends that booking is sensible.
