Chiquito
Roomy Tex-Mex with generous fajitas, a kids' menu, high chairs and free parking — easy to walk into without booking.

Mexican · Newcastle upon Tyne
Cheap, quick and easy with small children — order at the counter or the touchscreen, grab a high chair, and there's room to park a pram without wedging it between tables. Burritos and bowls are the thing to go for, with the salsa roja getting particular love, and the Vegan Chilli No Carne means a veggie or vegan child isn't stuck with a side of rice. The team are genuinely warm with kids, and honest when something's run low rather than leaving you waiting. Two caveats worth knowing: fillings can vary between visits and some find it heavy on rice for the price, and it's card only, so don't turn up with a fiver. Free parking helps. Sunday evenings are calm; one visitor found it "not busy" with a lovely atmosphere.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
