Black Sheep Coffee - Grainger St
A well-rated, relaxed coffee café in central Newcastle, handy for a mid-range drink and a sit-down with the family.

Restaurants · Newcastle upon Tyne
Vietnamese street food in the middle of town that works surprisingly well with children in tow — buggy access, high chairs, a kids' menu and outdoor seating, plus vegan and gluten-free dishes handled properly rather than as an afterthought. The staff are patient and take time explaining spice levels and what's in each dish, which helps when a fussy eater is deciding. Food comes out fast, portions are generous enough that older kids can share (one parent took a third of theirs home in a box), and nobody gets rushed out. The pho, chicken curry noodle bowl, summer rolls and crispy spring rolls all get singled out. Two things to know: it's card payment only, and it fills up and gets noisy as the evening goes on — early sittings are calmer.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
