A characterful old ironmongers turned café, with all-day breakfast, two floors of seating, homemade food and a famous Biscoff cheesecake.

Restaurants · Dolgellau
A proper town-centre pub in the middle of Dolgellau, with a fire in the bar, beer mats pinned across the ceiling and enough room to get a buggy in without a fuss. Portions are big and the cooking is well above pub standard — the beef and ale pie with mash, fresh veg and a deep rich gravy comes up again and again, as does the rump of lamb and the chicken and chorizo pasta. High chairs and a kids' menu are there, the staff are quick and genuinely warm, and the loos are modern and spotless, which matters when you're changing a toddler. Free parking, outdoor seating for warmer days, and dogs are welcome too. It's at the pricier end for the area, and locals fill the bar in the evenings, so book if you want a table after a day walking.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
