A mid-priced Newcastle restaurant with a kids' menu and high chairs, well-rated by families at 4.5 stars.

Italian · Newcastle upon Tyne
Tucked near the hotels in the city centre, this is the kind of Italian that quietly gets everything right on a Tuesday night as well as a Saturday. Buggy access, high chairs and a kids' menu are all sorted, and the staff are unfailingly patient — two of them can run a full room without anyone feeling rushed or forgotten. Food comes out fast and generous rather than fussy: the Linguini Di Mare and Penne Salmone get genuine devotion, the crispy chicken wings disappear quickly, and the veg sides are done properly. The early bird runs from 5 till 10 and keeps a family meal around £20 a head, with no service charge slipped onto the bill. It can feel quiet midweek and the decor is more simple than atmospheric, but one regular calls it "absolute value for money".

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
