Set inside a hotel high up in Liverpool, this one is worth knowing about for the window tables — the view over the city is genuinely the draw, and the room is roomy enough that a pram isn't a problem, with high chairs and a kids' menu. It's also a useful backup before the theatre when everywhere else is booked out: one family who chanced it found "plenty of space" and paid around £51 for two club sandwiches with chips, onion rings, a children's nuggets-chips-and-beans, and three drinks. The honest snag is speed — food can take a long while to arrive, so it's not the place to be if anyone's on a countdown.
