Miller & Carter Sheffield Parkhead
A Sheffield pub with a kids' menu and outdoor seating — easy, relaxed family dining at a mid-range price.

Pub · Sheffield
Tucked near Ecclesall Woods, this is a proper traditional pub that handles families without fuss — free parking outside, buggy access, high chairs, a kids' menu and outdoor tables when the weather plays along. Portions are generous for the money, and the three-course lunch (around £12) is the standout: the hunter's chicken schnitzel, sausage and mash, and the grains and avocado salad all get mentioned warmly. The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming rather than cavernous, and staff are generally friendly and helpful. Two honest snags: with only a couple of people on the bar and floor at busy times, food can take a while — one family waited a good half hour between courses — and children's plates don't always arrive first, which matters when someone's patience is thin. Worth timing for early afternoon, when tables are plentiful.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
