Brighton chocolate cafe serving drinking chocolate in 20 cacao strengths — an easy, sweet sit-down stop for families.

Pub · Brighton
Right on the edge of the Lanes, this is a traditional pub with a proper pubby feel — clean tables, no sticky surfaces, and a downstairs bar with a handful of tables plus a bigger restaurant room upstairs, which is where you'll want to head with children. There's a kids' menu and high chairs, and outside seating that comes into its own on a warm evening with the Lanes views. The pies are what people come back for, and the fish and chips gets praise for generous, freshly-made portions. Staff are generally accommodating — one family had a table saved for them in front of a screen. Worth knowing: prices are on the high side, a 12.5% service charge is added, and there's no Sunday roast. It can get lively in the evenings when the screens are on.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
