About RYBKA (the fish likes to swim)

A proper sit-down chippy rather than a takeaway counter, which shows in the prices — closer to pub rates than a paper-wrapped supper — but the portions are big enough that plenty of parents admit defeat halfway through, so a child can happily share an adult plate. Food comes out fast even when the room is full, which matters when someone's hungry and wobbling. The chips are crisp with fluffy middles, the batter light and well seasoned, the haddock soft, and the homemade tartare and curry sauce both get real praise. Mushy peas are done properly. Staff are patient with people dithering over the menu, though one family found the service brisk near closing time. High chairs, a kids' menu, buggy access, vegan options and outdoor seating. Clean, cosy, and pleasant enough to linger over a card game.
