The Alpen Lodge
Traditional Glasgow pub near the station with kids' menu, high chairs and great craic — go early, before the evening crowd builds.

Pub · Glasgow
Right by Central Station, this is a proper old-school Glasgow boozer — handy if you're early for a train and need somewhere to sit with a buggy and a bag of snacks. There's a kids' menu and high chairs, and the welcome is genuinely warm: the owners and regulars chat to anyone who walks in, and one visitor who popped in for a single drink stayed four hours. Prices are fair for the city centre and the beer is well kept. Two honest caveats: it's a small room that gets tight and loud when busy, and karaoke runs in the evenings — brilliant fun, but a daytime visit suits little ones far better. Some have found the toilets grubby, so it's worth a look before you settle in.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
