About The Old Shed
A café on a woodland site outside Chipping Norton where the walks, signposted trails and fenced fields of donkeys, goats and pigs mean children can burn off energy before or after eating — a genuinely useful combination. Food comes out fast even when it's heaving, which it will be on a weekend afternoon, and the staff stay friendly under pressure. The full breakfast is generous (bacon, sausages, eggs, hash brown, four slices of toast), sausage rolls are baked on site, and the cake counter is the real draw — the coffee cheesecake gets singled out repeatedly. There are high chairs, a kids' menu, activities to keep little ones busy, clean toilets and free parking outside. The ground is gravelly, though pushchairs manage fine. Covered and uncovered outdoor tables, and dogs are welcome too.
