Free on-site parking is the first relief here — a big car park that takes the stress out of arriving with car seats and a buggy to unload, and space enough that two cars travelling together both find spots. Inside is a converted pub, so it's roomy rather than smart, with a warm ambience, music playing and big round tables that suit six or more. The staff-to-customer ratio is generous, so food lands quickly even when the room is full, and mix-ups get sorted straight away without fuss — attentive without hovering over your table. High chairs, a kids' menu, buggy access and vegan options are all confirmed. The tikka platter, lamb rogan josh and Bombay potato get the most praise, and the naan comes slightly toasted underneath. There's outside seating in warmer months. It's busy even midweek — one family found it packed at 6pm on a Wednesday — so book.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
