A former market building turned brunch-and-dinner spot, with exposed brick, moody lighting and enough room between tables that a pram isn't a problem. It's family-run, and it shows — the welcome is warm and the staff are genuinely happy to have children in. High chairs and a kids' menu are there, and parking outside is free, which in Lincoln matters more than it should. Portions are big enough that grown-ups leave full: eggs Benedict and the pancake stack with bacon and maple syrup get the most love, the Sunday roasts come in an unusual number of options, and the cake slices in the counter are enormous. Smoothies are a proper treat for non-drinkers. The south-facing outdoor area is lovely in sun, with umbrellas when it's too much. It's a lingering sort of place — one parent says you "lose track of time".
