Aspava Restaurant
Warm Turkish restaurant in the old quarter with quick service, free olives and bread, generous kebabs and famously good cakes.

Set back off the main road, this is the sort of place people walk past for years before discovering it — and then come back weekly. Breakfast is the main event: the mega breakfast arrives in portions bigger than anyone expects, poached eggs done properly, and the staff will happily rework a plate (no egg, extra hash browns) without fuss. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and buggy access, plus free parking and outdoor seating for when little ones need air. Prices are genuinely reasonable and the room is spotless and homely rather than smart, so nobody's fretting about crumbs. The homemade cakes are worth a takeaway box, and the cream tea is huge — one family had to take half of it away. Afternoon tea is worth booking ahead. Note: no dogs.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
