About The Iron Duke

Tucked into the middle of Glasgow, this place looks tiny from the street but opens out roomier than you'd expect — cosy rather than cramped, with enough space to get a pram in and outdoor seating when the weather plays along. The team here is the thing people talk about most: warm, quick with recommendations, and food arrives promptly, which matters when someone small has hit their limit. High chairs and a kids' menu are sorted. The posh fish supper comes up again and again — vodka-battered haddock, Koffmann chips, a curried tartare sauce people genuinely rave about — alongside haggis, neeps and tatties, haggis fries with Irn-Bru sauce, and a sticky toffee pudding worth sharing. Portions are generous for the price. It's city-centre and popular, so book ahead; one visitor called it "a little retreat from all the hustle and bustle".
