Restaurant · Norwich
A 17th-century country pub just outside Norwich that manages the rare trick of feeling grown-up and completely relaxed about children at the same time. Families report age ranges from 20 months to 90 at one table without a flicker of fuss — the staff are attentive, quick to answer questions about dietary needs, and good at reading when you need them. Sunday roasts are the thing to come for, with enormous Yorkshire puddings and proper gravy, and there's a strong vegetarian roast too. High chairs, a kids' menu, buggy access, free parking and outdoor seating for warmer days. Inside it's cosy rather than cavernous, with a log burner in the bar. It gets genuinely busy, especially weekends and Sundays, so book — one visitor called it "a hidden gem", and word has clearly got out.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
