Hillside Cafe
A cheap, cheerful transport café with huge free parking, hot generous breakfasts, high chairs and valley views from the outdoor tables.

Cafés · Warminster
Tucked a couple of minutes off the main road in a small rural complex beside a stream, this is a far nicer stop than motorway services — and the enormous car park swallows anything, campervans included, so no circling with tired children in the back. Food is cooked to order and arrives properly hot (eat it straight away), with a varied menu that runs from full breakfasts to fish finger sandwiches, plus good coffee and brownies people come back for. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and a garden dining area, and it's roomy enough for a buggy. Craft and gift stalls give restless children something to wander round. It's dog friendly too, with 50p puppuccinos. One snag: opening hours are short — closed Mondays and shut by mid-afternoon, so go early.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
