The Fine Brownie Company
A warmly-rated Southampton bakery-café for sharing a brownie and a coffee with the little ones in tow.

Pub · Southampton
Cheap, cheerful and right opposite the Bedford Place car park, which makes the whole thing far easier with a pram — buggy access is level and there's usually a space. It's a decent-sized pub with an upstairs seating area and a roof terrace, and the balcony tables are lovely when the weather holds. Breakfast is the standout: a large English with unlimited coffee for under £7, and refills on hot chocolate too. Curry night, the wings and the brownie with ice cream all get good marks, and the staff clear plates and keep drinks coming without fuss. High chairs, a kids' menu and outdoor seating are all there. Fair warning — it's often busy, tables mostly seat four so bigger family groups struggle, and it can feel more drinking-pub than café at times. Weekday lunchtimes are the calm window.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
