Mexifun
Tiny, warm Mexican cafe off the high street with huge burritos, famous churros, a kids' menu and fast, made-to-order food.

Fish & chips · Southampton
A pay-and-display car park sits round the back, which takes the stress out of arriving with a pram — though the dining room is small, just a handful of tables to one side, so the buggy may need parking neatly. It's spotless, and the family who run it are genuinely warm with everyone who walks in; they've been notably accommodating to a customer using a mobility aid. Portions are the talking point: the cod comes fresh and flaky in a light, crisp batter, chips plump, and one visitor from Texas ordered a small that "was like an extra large". There's a kids' menu, high chairs, and shawarma and lamb kebabs alongside the fish if someone won't eat fish. Two snags — the gravy is nothing special, and card isn't always reliable here, so carry cash.
