A proper local pub feel, with a toy area in one corner where children play while parents have a coffee and a chat — which tells you a lot about how relaxed it is here. Staff are warm and unhurried with families, high chairs are on hand, there's a kids' menu, and free parking plus level buggy access take the stress out of arriving. The fish and chips get the most praise (flaky fish, proper crunchy batter), and the steak with peppercorn sauce, hot wings and cooked breakfasts all land hot and generous. Two mains for £13.50 is decent value on quieter days. Out back there's outdoor seating for sunny afternoons, and dogs are welcome. Worth knowing: food can be slow even when it's quiet, the small plates are genuinely small, and Friday nights get loud with karaoke.
