Pub · Plymouth
A corner local in Plymouth where the welcome does most of the work — the couple behind the bar introduce themselves to newcomers, and one visitor found them happy to make a cup of tea that wasn't even on the menu. It's drinks-led rather than a meal out, so treat it as a stop-off: the hand-pulled ale changes regularly and is kept with obvious pride, with West Country beers like Bays from Paignton on the pumps. High chairs and buggy access are both there, and the inside has been done up recently. Two big curved screens show the football, there are two dartboards and a pool table, and evenings can run to darts league and discos, so it gets busy and loud — early afternoon is the calmer bet. Cheap and cheerful, and the team keep the room in good order.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
