Perched above a working quarry just outside Penryn, this is the kind of find that makes a morning out feel like a small adventure — kids get bonus entertainment watching people zip-wire across the water while they wait. The staff take time to explain the menu and were happy to accommodate an unusual party, and there's a kids' menu, high chairs and free parking. Inside is cosy but genuinely chilly in winter, though blankets appear at the table; on a sunny day the outdoor seating with quarry views is the place to be. The all-day breakfast is the thing to order — local ingredients, big veggie and cooked options, avo on toast where they don't skimp on the avo — plus tray bakes and very good coffee. It gets busy at weekends, so service can slow when it's full.
