Small, tucked-away and calm — the kind of place where a pram fits if you're sensible about where you park it, and the staff won't blink when your toddler needs something. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and vegan options, and the tables and toilets are kept properly clean. The picture menu is a real help with children who want to see what they're getting. Portions vary: the dragon roll and special uramaki are generous (one diner took half home), while some rolls are smaller than expected. Gyoza, prawn tempura with big prawns, and the generously filled miso soup are the reliable wins, and everything is halal. Food can be slow at quiet moments, so order starters straight away. It is genuinely pricey — around £60 for two at lunch — and better suited to a treat than a routine stop.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
