About Sabai Sabai

Tucked into the city centre, this is a chic, cosy Thai spot where the tables sit fairly close together — fine with a pram if you ask, but it's snug rather than sprawling, so booking is wise. What makes it work with children is the staff: warm from the moment you walk in, unfazed by big tables and birthdays, and quick to make a fuss of a child (one family got a surprise brownie brought out). There's a kids' menu, high chairs, and strong vegetarian and vegan choices — the Thai arancini and mushroom and truffle spring rolls get particular praise, alongside a Massaman curry regulars call the real thing. Portions are generous, everything arrives promptly, and it's spotlessly clean. It's a little pricey for city-centre Thai, but the food justifies it.
