Tucked just off the A38 in a Cornish village, this small traditional pub punches well above its weight on seafood — think crab claws, garlic prawns and scallops in garlic butter with crusty bread to mop up. It's genuinely small, so booking matters; families have turned up at busy times to find no free table, and popular dishes occasionally sell out by mid-afternoon. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and outdoor seating, plus a free car park directly opposite (the building has no name board out front, so look for the outdoor seating area). Buggy access works, though inside is snug and quirky — candles, low light, plenty for little ones to look at. Dogs are welcome too. Expect around £50 for two mains and drinks, which regulars reckon beats Padstow prices. Toilets have been described as needing attention.
