A bike-themed café on the Barbican that manages to feel relaxed even when it's heaving — the staff greet you at the door, clear and wipe tables quickly, and one family arriving mid-downpour with a dog in tow were sat down within minutes. Drinks land fast and food isn't far behind, which helps when someone small is fraying. Outside tables look over the historic buildings and boats in the marina, and that's where you'll want the pram on a sunny day. Brunch is the strong suit: french toast with maple bacon, smoked salmon rösti specials, banana bread with compote and mascarpone. Coffee is genuinely excellent. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and vegan options. Fair warning — the cakes run very sweet, and inside is snug with laptops and cycling memorabilia rather than sprawling space.
