About Rayan Food & Pastries

Breakfast is the thing here — pastries and manakish baked to order, beans full of flavour, falafel and kibbeh, and around £11 feeding two with free unlimited tea. There's an indoor play room for children, which buys you a proper sit-down while food is made fresh, though it still arrives quickly. The room is cosy and Arabic-styled with a water wall and music in the background, and staff are friendly and used to families. High chairs, a kids' menu and buggy access are all sorted, and there's free parking behind and outside for up to three hours. Mandi lamb, charcoal chicken and the halloumi special sandwich get the loudest praise; the halloumi is a good vegetarian bet. Worth knowing: lunch service doesn't start until around 2pm, so time your visit.
