Cafés · Kilgetty
Perched beside the estuary, this is the kind of stop where the view does half the work — plenty of outside tables, a good breeze off the water on hot days, and free parking so you're not circling with a car full of tired children. Buggy access, high chairs and a kids' menu are all sorted, and the staff stay attentive even when it's heaving, which it often is in good weather. The food is a genuine cut above: hot roast pork and stuffing rolls, Welsh cheese and leek tart, smoked mackerel pâté, good milkshakes for the children, and a key lime pie families rave about. Two honest caveats — the signature salad nudges £18, and service can slow noticeably at busy moments. There's little shade outside, so bring a hat.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
