Indian · Cambridge
Tucked into a quieter corner of Cambridge, this is proper old-school Bangladeshi and North Indian cooking, and the welcome is a big part of why families keep coming back — the owners often come out to talk you through the menu, and they'll happily cook something off-menu or dial the spice up or down for you. Buggy access, high chairs, a kids' menu and free parking take the usual stress out of it, and portions are generous for ££. The biryani, tandoori chicken and lamb curry get the loudest praise, along with fresh naan, mango lassi and homemade kulfi. Vegans are looked after, though the menu isn't clearly marked, so just ask. Worth knowing: evenings get hot, busy and noisy, so an early sitting is easier with little ones. One parent found the food "rather heavy" on the oil.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
